A quick glance at the table confirms the trends we discussed. Nearly all of the top 50 tallest nations are European or have European ancestry (notice countries like Australia, Canada, and the United States in the list, which have largely European-descended populations).

A few outliers, such as some Caribbean and Pacific Island nations (e.g. Dominica, Niue, American Samoa), also appear among the tallest. On the flip side, many large countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America don’t appear in the top 50 because their averages are lower. For example, countries like China, India, or Nigeria have shorter average heights and fall further down the rankings.
