This matters because on-screen proportions drift constantly. The spread here is the interesting part. From Krillin at 153 cm to Piccolo at 226 cm is a 73 cm gap, nearly two and a half feet. That is roughly the difference between a short adult woman and a person taller than any NBA player currently active.

🥋 The Big Surprises
Piccolo Is Enormous
At 226 cm (7′5″), Piccolo is taller than Shaquille O'Neal. He is taller than almost every professional basketball player who has ever lived. Yao Ming, at 229 cm, has about three centimetres on him and that is it.
This is genuinely hard to see on screen because Piccolo is so often framed alongside other Namekians, or standing at a distance, or seated in meditation. But put him next to Goku and the difference is over 50 cm. Goku would be looking up at roughly chin height.

Frieza Gets Smaller as He Gets Stronger
This is one of the best design decisions in the entire franchise and most people never consciously register it.
Frieza's first form is 158 cm. His intermediate forms bulk up dramatically. The second form in particular is a hulking, horned mass. And then his final form shrinks back down to 153 cm, smaller than where he started, sleek and almost childlike.
It is a deliberate inversion of the usual power-scaling shorthand. Every other villain in the genre gets bigger as the threat escalates. Frieza gets smaller, and the effect is far more unsettling. The most dangerous version of him is the one that could look Krillin in the eye.
Vegeta Is Shorter Than Bulma
Vegeta: 164 cm. Bulma: 165 cm. It is only a single centimetre, but it is canon, and it recontextualises a great many scenes.
It also puts Vegeta 11 cm below Goku: a gap he is, in-universe, extremely aware of. Much of the Saiyan prince's screen presence is achieved through posture, framing, and sheer attitude rather than physical size.
Krillin Is Not Actually That Short
Krillin reads as tiny because he stands next to Saiyans constantly. But at 153 cm, he is about the height of a typical 12-year-old, or a short adult woman. In a normal room full of normal people, Krillin would be short, not remarkable.
